TOGETHER, We Can Cross The Line!

The Founder

Sarah Tate

Welcome to our charitable page; Sarah’s Community Challenges Project or SCCP is less of a mouthful!

Where do we start, well at the beginning may be the best place! I’m Sarah Tate, the founder of SCCP, the lady with the crazy ideas but also the driving force behind our vision. Back in January 2022, whilst recovering from Covid, I decided to order an exercise bike and cycle on it the distance of Land’s End to John O’Groats; aiming to improve fitness and whilst doing so raising awareness and funds for a little girl who needed vital equipment being that she was classed as end of life a number of years previously.

By week 10 of my fundraising journey, I had raised over £10,000 on JustGiving and had further donations from local organisations totalling £16,500! I had walked a marathon, shouting loud and proud about the cause, and held a fundraiser, auction, numerous raffles and bucket collections; not only raising well-needed funds but bringing a community together for one purpose. . . . to help one another.

After this campaign, I got the bug to help and raise awareness and money for other local causes; focusing particularly on ones that had touched my life and the lives of my now-growing community of followers.

Tommy The Turtle 🐢

Meet Our Mascot

🐢 Meet Tommy the Turtle, the Heart and Shell of SCCP! 🐢

🌟 Welcoming Tommy the Turtle, our charming and resilient mascot, to the SCCP family! Tommy embodies the core values and spirit of our charity, representing steadfast determination, enduring strength, and a gentle heart.

With his slow yet steady pace, Tommy reminds us that progress may take time, but perseverance and patience always lead to meaningful impact. Just as turtles carry their homes on their backs, Tommy the Turtle inspires us to shoulder our responsibilities with grace and commitment, ensuring we create a safer, happier world for everyone.

Tommy’s shell, tough and protective, symbolises our unwavering commitment to safeguarding the vulnerable and providing a shield of support to those in need. His warm smile and kind eyes reflect the compassion and empathy that drive our mission, encouraging a community of care and solidarity.

Join Tommy in his journey to make a difference! Embrace his spirit of resilience, lend a helping hand, and together, let’s transform lives and create a wave of positive change. Tommy the Turtle is not just a mascot; he’s a beacon of hope, a symbol of endurance, and a true friend to our charity. 🌱
